All Deer Path Reads is a “one book, one school community” program. We invite Deer Path students, parents, siblings, and staff to participate in this program. The book we are reading is Candy Bomber: The Story of the Berlin Airlift's "Chocolate Pilot" by Michael O. Tunnell.
The goal of this program is to promote reading and a culture of literacy, promote family literacy, build community, and start conversations. The story of Lt. Halvorsen and “Operation Little Vittles” also integrates our five District 67 Character Traits: Teamwork, Caring, Honesty/Integrity, Respect and Responsibility.
Read the book at your own pace. As you finish chapters, take a look at the discussion questions and share your thoughts with the rest of the DPM community.
If you have any questions about "All Deer Path Reads", please contact Patti Fleser, DPM Media Specialist, at [email protected] or 847-604-7433.
