When Lt. Halvorsen first gave the 30 children the two sticks of gum, he said there was no fighting; they shared the gum with everyone. Did this surprise you? Do you recall a time when someone shared something with you, or perhaps you shared with others? How did you feel?

I visited a church in Tanzania and had a big bag of Jolly Ranchers to share. The Masai kids crowded around me and no one pushed or shoved. They were so happy to have that little piece of candy. I was glad we had enough for everyone. I didn't have piece. I felt sort of guilty or something. We take alot for granted.
